By utilizing our advanced technology platform, we unlock the potential of organic acids and specialty chemicals, helping our partners replace petroleum-based plastics, fragrances, and personal care items with greener alternatives. We are looking for a talented Industrial Synthetic Chemist to join our Downstream and Scaleup team in Hayward, California, where you will play a vital role in bringing our biodegradable functional polymers to the market.
What you'll be doing

- You will oversee the safe and efficient transfer of our processes to contract manufacturing organizations while supporting the integration of commercial equipment.
What you'll bring
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong background in chemistry and a passion for industrial process development. We require the following qualifications:
- A PhD in chemistry or a related field with at least 3 years of industrial experience, or a BS/MS degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Proven, hands-on experience in scaling chemical processes from the bench to pilot or manufacturing environments.
- A solid grasp of synthetic chemistry principles and the methodology required to make production processes commercially viable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, paired with the ability to work independently or as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent communication skills in English and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and ethics.
- The ability to travel approximately 20 percent of the time to support on-site equipment trials.
