Position Summary:
The Human Resources Manager (HRM) is responsible for supporting the delivery of key Human Resources functions, including: employee relations, performance management, training, and employee engagement, as well as the management of a wide variety of HR projects and deliverables. This role serves as a business partner to assigned campuses/departments - providing resources and consultation to Leaders, ensuring HR policies are clear and applied fairly and consistently, and managing confidential matters with extreme discretion. The HRM serves as departmental lead with the administrative management & support for: HRIS, survey development/distribution, data analysis, and frontline customer service. This role reports to the Director of Human Resources, and may be responsible for supervising Interns and other administrative support staff, as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Serves as business partner to assigned campuses/departments – providing guidance to Leaders across a variety of Human Resources related matters, including engagement, conflict management, training, compliance, and policy interpretationManages all aspects of employee relations for assigned campuses/departments, including investigations and legal/administrative requestsIn partnership with the Director of Human Resources, manages the coordination of the annual performance review cycles, including development of training materials, toolkits, and other resourcesResponsible for design and delivery of HR trainings on topics including, but not limited to: DEIA, Compliance, FMLA, ADAAA, and other HR related topicsResponsible for managing all aspects of complex HR projects, as assigned - from inception to conclusion - ensuring regular project status communications to key stakeholders and team membersSupports the management of ongoing processes related to the employment life cycle including; compliance, onboarding, performance management, engagement, and HRISMaintains sound working knowledge of Mastery’s compliance with local, state, and federal labor and human relations laws, as well as state certification requirements and with Highly Qualified Teacher regulationsAssists the Director of Human Resources with ensuring appropriate management of compliance issuesServes as a first point of contact for Human Resources inquiriesActively participates in the cross/training of Staff within the departmentAssumes supervisory responsibility for HR Interns and other administrative support staff, as neededCompletes other duties and special projects, as assignedQualifications:

HSD/GED, plus a minimum of six (6) years of relevant, full-time, progressively more responsible experience, OR Bachelor's degree in Management (w/ concentration in HR), Business Administration (w/ concentration in HRM, Organizational Behavior, Industrial Relations, Organizational Development, and/or Leadership), Psychology, or other related field, plus a minimum of two (2) years of experienceMinimum of three (3) years of progressively more responsible experience in Human Resources Management, HR Operations, HRIS, HR Compliance, or other relevant HR-focused areaHRCI and/or SHRM certification strongly preferredBroad knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational development, employee relations, and/or training and developmentWorking knowledge of Pennsylvania and New Jersey regulations and employment law strongly preferredPrior experience with training design and delivery a plusExperience in urban schools or other educational setting a plusPhysical/Environmental:
Ability to physically perform the essential duties of the role – either on-site or remotely (as indicated), and to work in the environmental conditions required, such as: traveling to network campuses; maneuvering in office spaces (including standing, walking, sitting for long periods of time, speaking loudly and clearly, seeing and hearing things both near and far away); stooping, kneeling, reaching file cabinets/shelves; fine finger and hand manipulation in use of computer, chalkboard, dry erase, &/or projectors; filing, faxing, scanning, coping, typing, mailing, and making phone calls; sitting for up to two (2) hours looking at a computer monitor, using a keyboard/mouse, and typing.Other Requirements:
