The opportunity

We are looking for a Human Resources Assistant to join us in a part-time volunteer capacity. This role is a fantastic fit for a student looking to gain hands-on experience in the field of people operations. You will work closely with our Human Resources Director to support our organizational goals, helping us manage the vital administrative tasks that allow our programs to thrive. Please note that you will need to be available for our monthly meetings, which take place on the second Saturday of each month.

A day in the life

• You will serve as a friendly point of contact by handling phone inquiries, answering questions about our policies, and relaying messages to the team.
• You will keep our records organized and up to date, which includes managing personnel files, processing forms, and performing accurate data entry.
• You will assist with our recruitment efforts by attending industry job fairs and supporting the onboarding process for new team members through background and reference checks.

Who you are

You are a student who is eager to learn the ropes of Human Resources. You pride yourself on your customer service skills and your ability to handle sensitive information with care. You are comfortable with data entry and have a keen eye for detail. Because we communicate frequently with our associates and the public, you should be fluent in English. If you are organized, reliable, and excited about supporting a mission-driven team, we would love to meet you.
