Role at a glance
This is a full-time position based on-site in the United States. We are looking for a seasoned expert to take ownership of our HPC environment, ensuring that our systems remain fast, reliable, and scalable. You will be a key player in maintaining our research and trading infrastructure while collaborating with teams across the organization.
Your impact
- You will take full ownership of monitoring and tuning our HPC applications, the SLURM job scheduler, and our underlying networking and storage hardware to ensure maximum workload efficiency.
- You will be responsible for conducting deep root-cause analysis to identify system issues and building sustainable, automated solutions to prevent them from recurring.
- You will act as a primary technical point of contact, managing relationships with external vendors and internal stakeholders to coordinate infrastructure upgrades, hardware refreshes, and connectivity planning.
What you'll need
- At least 5 years of experience in HPC system administration or architecture, specifically working with Linux distributions like RHEL, CentOS, or Rocky.
- Deep familiarity with resource management tools such as SLURM, along with experience managing network storage systems and parallel file systems like Lustre or GPFS.
- Strong technical proficiency in Python for scripting and automation, complemented by hands-on experience with configuration management tools like Ansible and Terraform.
- A solid understanding of high-speed networking, including InfiniBand and high-speed Ethernet, as well as experience with bare metal provisioning tasks like DHCP, DNS, and PXE Boot.
- Fluency in English and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both internal teams and external business partners.
