Since our founding in 1994, we have built a reputation for innovation and integrity across global equity, options, and futures markets. We are currently looking for a talented individual to help us push the boundaries of our computational capabilities. If you are a self-motivated engineer who enjoys tackling complex infrastructure challenges, we would love to have you on our team.
About the Role
We are searching for a Senior HPC Engineer to join us in a full-time, on-site capacity. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, optimization, and maintenance of the high-performance computing and storage systems that serve as the foundation for our research operations. You will work closely with our quantitative researchers to ensure they have the infrastructure needed to develop sophisticated trading strategies and train models on massive datasets.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with developers, quantitative researchers, and infrastructure teams to evolve our next-generation HPC environment.
- Proactively identify and eliminate performance bottlenecks within our clusters to maximize throughput for critical research workloads.
- Build and maintain robust automation tools and scripts to streamline system provisioning, monitoring, and configuration management.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong technical background and a passion for building scalable systems. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience managing and designing large-scale HPC environments.
- Exceptional Linux system administration skills, ideally with a deep understanding of the kernel.
- Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting, with C++ experience considered a significant advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of job scheduling systems like Slurm and parallel file systems such as Lustre or GPFS.
- A solid grasp of networking fundamentals, including high-speed interconnects like InfiniBand or RDMA.
- Experience with performance profiling and a strong ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues.
- Familiarity with GPU and machine learning workloads is preferred.
Location
This position is based in the United States.
