Since our founding in 2010, Challenge Preparatory Charter School has been a cornerstone of the Far Rockaway community in Queens. We are dedicated to providing a rigorous, technology-infused academic program for over 1,200 scholars from Kindergarten through 12th grade across our three sites. Our mission is to empower students to excel academically and achieve their career aspirations while fostering their social, emotional, and ethical growth. We believe in creating a supportive, family-like environment where every team member collaborates to help our students become responsible citizens of the 21st century.
The opportunity
We are looking for a Senior High School Technology Coordinator to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis. Reporting directly to our Director of Technology, you will play a vital role in bridging the gap between innovative tools and classroom instruction. Your work will directly impact our ability to deliver a data-enriched learning experience, as you will serve as a key advisor to our principals and teaching staff. By implementing professional development and managing our technical infrastructure, you will ensure that our educators have the resources they need to help our scholars succeed.
A day in the life
- You will oversee the maintenance and troubleshooting of our diverse array of devices, including computers, iPads, Chromebooks, and Smart Boards, while also managing the technical setups for school assemblies and public events.
- You will support our academic leadership by maintaining scholar evaluation data and managing our core digital platforms, specifically focusing on Google Education tools like Google Classroom.
- You will act as a bridge for our faculty by developing staff training programs and serving as an ongoing consultant for grade-level teams to ensure technology is seamlessly integrated into their daily instructional plans.
Who you are
You are a dedicated professional who is passionate about closing the achievement gap for students in underserved areas. You bring a strong teamwork ethic and a desire to contribute to an inclusive, collaborative school culture. Your background includes the following:
- A Bachelor's degree and relevant certification are required, though we prefer candidates who hold a Master's degree.
- You possess specific technology certifications and have a proven track record of using digital tools for instructional purposes.
- You are familiar with Google Classroom or Apple Cloud domains and applications.
- You have excellent communication skills, allowing you to engage effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Experience working in an urban school setting is highly desirable.
Why you'll love it here
Working with us means becoming part of a mission-driven organization that values continuous professional growth. You will have the opportunity to serve on our Technology Committee and influence how we shape the future of our scholars. We offer a collaborative environment where your expertise in technology will be instrumental in maintaining our high standards of scholarship, respect, and honesty across all our campuses.
