What does it mean to be a Help Desk Technician at GLS?
As a member of the Information Technology team, the Help Desk Technician provides company-wide technical support. In this position, the Help Desk Technician assists with a variety of software, hardware and networking issues and is responsible for delivering the highest level of customer service.
How will you drive value within the organization as a Help Desk Technician?
Evaluate, prioritize, and resolve incoming requests for assistance from usersInvestigate, diagnose, and resolve software and hardware problems, networking, and other computer related technologies and advise users on appropriate actionMonitor, identify, and report network connectivity issues to ensure associates and clients are able to communicate and access company platformsLog and track calls using a problem management database, and maintain historical records and related problem documentationIdentify and escalate situations requiring urgent attentionUse system deployment images and software deployment packagesWhat should you already know to be a successful Help Desk Technician?
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field requiredIn lieu of a degree, candidates with a minimum of four (4) years’ relevant work experience and at least one current technical certification (e.g. A+, N+, MCP, MCSE, CCNA, HDI, or ITIL) may be consideredWorking knowledge of networking protocols requiredWorking knowledge of hardware, software, network, OS interaction requiredMicrosoft Technology Associate or CompTIA A+ certification preferredMinimum of 1 (one) year experience in a related field preferredEmployment Requirements:
Schedule: 7:00 AM MST - 4:00 PM MSTRemain in a stationary position up to 100% of the workdayConstantly operate a computer and other standard office equipmentTalk and hear to exchange accurate informationHave close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; extensive readingLift up to 50 poundsStoop and kneel to install computer equipmentThis job operates in a professional office environmentThe noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quietThe work environment is primarily indoorsGLS participates in the
