At Sofar, we are dedicated to connecting the world’s oceans. We design, build, and deploy the largest privately owned network of marine weather sensors to provide the most accurate forecasts available. Our data empowers governments and various stakeholders to increase operational efficiency, reduce emissions, and better understand the impacts of climate change on ocean health and extreme weather. As we work toward creating the ocean intelligence necessary for a sustainable future, we are seeking a seasoned Head of Software Product to join our team in the United States on a full-time, on-site basis.
Key outcomes
- Define and execute our product roadmap, ensuring every initiative aligns with our mission and broader business objectives.
- Establish robust product operations processes to streamline development cycles, boost team efficiency, and maintain high quality standards.
- Foster seamless collaboration across engineering, design, marketing, and customer success teams to ensure successful product launches.
- Leverage market research and competitive analysis to keep our offerings ahead of industry trends.
- Act as a champion for our customers, gathering direct insights to validate concepts and refine our product strategy.
- Mentor and lead our product management and operations teams, cultivating a culture of innovation and high performance.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of professional experience in product management, strategy, and operations.
- A proven history of success within fast-paced startup environments.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with executive leadership to drive strategic initiatives.
- Comprehensive knowledge of product lifecycle management and the implementation of operational workflows.
- Strong analytical capabilities, with the talent to turn complex data into actionable business plans.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a commitment to team development.
- Fluency in English.
Preferred qualifications
- Prior experience working within the maritime, logistics, or ocean data industries.
Compensation
The estimated salary range for this position is $200,000 to $240,000. Please note that this range reflects our current expectations for the role, though actual compensation may vary based on individual experience, skill sets, and equity packages.
