Head of Security at Raya

What is this role?

We are looking for a Head of Security to join our team in an executive, full-time capacity. This is a remote position available to candidates anywhere. We need a seasoned professional with at least 10 years of experience who can take ownership of our security posture and lead our efforts to protect our systems, data, and community.

What will you do?

• Take full ownership of backend security by managing signup and SMS flows, implementing rate limiting, and conducting thorough code audits to find and fix vulnerabilities.
• Manage the security of our third-party packages and vendor integrations, such as Datadog and Mixpanel, while overseeing credential management and employee communication security to prevent phishing.
• Lead threat research and analysis to stay ahead of new attack models, while designing and developing robust monitoring, response systems, and security scanning tools within our CI/CD pipeline.

You are a software engineer at heart with a deep passion for security. You have a proven track record of success at various companies and possess the following qualifications:

• At least 10 years of professional experience in the field.
• Strong expertise in network security and penetration testing.
• Proficiency in Linux, Bash scripting, and operating systems.
• Experience with DevOps and cloud technologies like AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Familiarity with CI/CD workflows using tools like Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
• Hands-on experience with security tools such as Burp Suite, Kali Linux, Metasploit, Nmap, SemGrep, Nuclei, Trufflehog, and Checkov.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a self-starter.
• Fluency in English.
