About the Role

We’re looking for a Head of Product Design to lead, grow, and elevate design across our product as we scale. This is a senior role with real influence — you’ll set the design vision and standards — but it’s also a hands-on one. You’ll be equally comfortable shaping strategy and jumping into Figma, running workshops, or partnering closely with engineers and product managers to ship high-quality work.

This is a great role for someone who has led teams before, thrives in fast-moving environments, and still loves being close to the craft.

What you’ll do

Design leadership & strategy

• Define and evolve the product design vision, principles, and quality bar as the company scales

• Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Leadership to influence product strategy and roadmap

• Advocate for user-centred design and evidence-based decision-making across the organisation

Hands-on product design (IC work)

• Actively contribute to design work on key initiatives — from discovery through to delivery

• Lead or support complex problem-solving, UX flows, and high-impact features

• Review and refine design output to ensure consistency, usability, and craft excellence

Team leadership & management

• Build, manage, and mentor a growing team of product designers

• Provide clear direction, feedback, and career development support

• Create an environment where designers can do their best work and grow with the company

Process & collaboration

• Establish and improve design processes that scale without becoming heavy-weight

• Work closely with Product Managers on discovery, prioritisation, and outcomes

• Collaborate with Engineering to ensure designs are feasible, well-implemented, and polished

What we’re looking for

• Significant experience in product design leadership within a digital product or technology company

• A strong background as an individual contributor with a portfolio demonstrating high-quality, shipped work

• Experience managing and mentoring designers, with a pragmatic and human approach

• Comfortable operating in a scale-up environment — ambiguity doesn’t faze you

• Strong UX thinking, systems thinking, and attention to detail

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels

• A genuine willingness to balance strategy, people leadership, and hands-on design
