The Head of Infrastructure, Security and Privacy is responsible for designing, building and running the platforms that host Beauty Pie’s core eCommerce platform and internal IT infrastructure. You will drive forward the tools we need to deliver delightful experiences for all Beauty Pie members and employees. With a natural customer focus you will ensure that our environments are secure and resilient working as part of a fast paced organisation.
Reporting to the CTO, You will have line management responsibility for a team of devops engineers and IT support specialists and will work closely with a wide range of people across the organisation including Engineering, Product, Marketing and Member Happiness teams.
The role will suit someone equally comfortable with hands-on delivery of the pragmatic solution alongside managing your team. You’ll be tasked with evolving our DevOps team while maturing the set of tools to deploy, maintain and monitor our platform. When things break (and we all know they will at some inconvenient time) you’ll dig in with the rest of us to get a fix in place quickly.
You should be confident leading best practice across multiple teams, solving complex problems, as well as providing technical coaching and oversight to other engineers.
So, what will you be doing?
- Conduct regular 1-2-1s to ensure your direct reports are motivated, happy and engaged.
- Evolve Beauty Pie’s DevOps team practices, supporting the evolution of delivery pipelines, security controls, and advanced monitoring & alerting
- Operational responsibility for Beauty Pie’s Production platforms including incident management and communication with all stakeholders
- Working with the Engineering leadership team to develop strategy, technology roadmaps and processes across all platforms
- Perform the role of DevOps Technical Product Owner and, through your team ensure the right solutions are developed and implemented successfully
- Be accountable for your teams delivering sustainable value at pace, while managing the expectations of your stakeholders.
- Ensure our suppliers and vendors are appropriately assessed against our security controls frameworks and comply with our security standards and any certification claims
- Lead the internal IT support team in our day-to-day IT operations and manage the implementation, development, monitoring, maintenance, upgrading and support of organisational IT systems

- Experience in supporting and driving a DevOps culture and building out technical capabilities
- Technologists who have proven leadership skills as a line manager to teams of highly skilled engineers.
- Strong technical foundations in cloud engineering required to run a small cloud platform team
- Deep expertise with Cloud Platforms, especially AWS
- Strong grasp of security considerations in cloud governance
- A strong technical background across Networks, Security, Firewall, Vulnerability Management, SIEM and EDR technologies
- Experience building and designing scalable and performant systems and making significant contributions to the wider engineering goals of the company.
