At Atomic Machines, we are pioneering a new frontier in micromanufacturing through our proprietary Matter Compiler technology. By offering a unique materials library and advanced manufacturing processes, we are enabling the creation of functional micromachines that were previously impossible to build. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Head of Information Security to join our team in a full-time, on-site capacity. In this executive role, you will lead our security and IT infrastructure efforts, ensuring our innovative engineering environments in Berkeley and Santa Clara remain secure and resilient.
Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of our Information Security function, including the development of a strategic vision to protect our intellectual property, financial data, and physical lab assets.
- Design and implement comprehensive security architectures for both cloud-native and on-site systems, while integrating security controls directly into our development pipelines.
- Manage our IT risk and compliance roadmap, lead incident response efforts, and oversee physical access control systems to ensure our infrastructure scales safely alongside our rapid growth.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of professional experience in Information Security, with a minimum of 3 years spent in a management or leadership capacity.
- Deep technical expertise with AWS and Azure AD, specifically regarding cloud security monitoring, logging, and identity management.
- Proven ability to manage vulnerability assessments, incident response, and risk management frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001, or SOC 2.
- Professional security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or CISM are highly valued.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field is preferred.
- The ability to work on-site daily in our Berkeley office, with the flexibility to commute to our Santa Clara location as required.
