Our team is composed of blockchain security experts, former Department of Defense scientists, and investigators who have spent years dismantling the operations of transnational criminal organizations and cartels. We build advanced cyber defense and asset recovery tools that protect national security and help law enforcement combat the rise of illicit cryptocurrency use. Our flagship product, Recovery CAT, automates the discovery and restoration of digital assets, providing a critical lifeline in complex criminal investigations and civil litigation. We are looking for a leader who is ready to step into a high-stakes environment to help us scale our impact.

The opportunity

We are seeking a visionary Head of Engineering to guide our technical operations through a period of rapid growth. This is a hands-on, executive-level role where you will work directly with our CEO to bridge the gap between business strategy and technical execution. Your primary mission is to scale our engineering organization from 5 to 15 people while upgrading our infrastructure to handle a 10x increase in traffic. You will define the future of our technical roadmap, ensuring that our systems remain resilient, high-performing, and secure enough to meet the demands of our mission-critical work.

A day in the life

• Lead and mentor our engineering team while establishing key performance metrics, such as sprint velocity and deploy frequency, to ensure we maintain 90%+ code coverage and consistent weekly releases.
• Collaborate closely with the CEO to align our product roadmap with business goals, making strategic architectural decisions that balance the need for new features with the management of technical debt.
• Drive continuous improvement by implementing robust SDLC processes and conducting root cause analysis on quality issues to ensure our platform maintains 99.9%+ uptime.

Who you are

You are an experienced technical leader who thrives in the fast-paced environment of a high-growth startup. You have a proven track record of scaling engineering teams and optimizing systems for massive traffic growth. You speak English fluently and possess the following qualifications:

• Deep expertise in technical leadership, architecture, and SDLC management.
• A data-driven mindset, with the ability to manage team performance using metrics like cycle times and deploy success rates.
• Strong experience with Test Driven Development and a commitment to maintaining high-quality, reliable codebases.
• The ability to navigate aggressive timelines while keeping the team motivated and focused on long-term scalability.
