We are currently seeking a Head of Engineering, Payment and Checkout to join us on a full-time, hybrid basis in France. In this leadership role, you will guide our payment and checkout strategy, overseeing a talented team of 15 engineers to build secure, scalable, and innovative solutions that power our global platform.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of 15 backend and frontend engineers to develop seamless payment and checkout features that support our growing transaction volumes.
• Drive high-level system architecture and design decisions, focusing on scalability, resiliency, and fault tolerance to ensure a reliable experience for our community.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and business stakeholders to align technical roadmaps with our broader company objectives and user needs.

Requirements

We are looking for a proven leader with extensive experience in the e-commerce payment space. You should be comfortable navigating complex technical environments and fostering a high-performance culture.

• Deep technical expertise in backend development, specifically with PHP and Go, along with a strong understanding of microservices and distributed systems.
• Architectural mindset with experience designing systems that handle high transaction volumes and integrate with global payment gateways.
• Proficiency in Agile development methodologies and a commitment to continuous delivery and software quality.
• Practical experience with modern infrastructure tools such as AWS, Docker, and Terraform.
• Fluency in English is required, as you will be working within a diverse, international team.
