What is this role?

We are looking for a Head of Engineering to join us in a full-time, remote capacity. This is an executive-level position for a seasoned leader who is ready to guide our technical strategy and mentor our engineering team. You will be responsible for the evolution of our platform, product, and services, ensuring that we continue to scale effectively while maintaining high standards of quality. This role is perfect for an experienced leader who enjoys staying hands-on while driving high-level architectural and business decisions.

What will you do?

• Lead and mentor a talented team of backend and frontend engineers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture while managing professional development and hiring.
• Serve as a hands-on technical leader who contributes to the codebase, defines architectural roadmaps, and implements AI-powered tools to maximize team velocity and efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with product, data, and business stakeholders to scope new features, manage engineering budgets, and ensure our platform remains scalable and performant under high-load periods.

What makes you a great fit?

To succeed in this role, you should possess a strong technical background and a passion for engineering excellence. We are looking for the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Over 10 years of total engineering experience, including at least 4 years in a leadership role such as CTO, VP of Engineering, or Senior Director at a scaling startup.
• Deep, full-stack expertise with a proven track record of owning enterprise-grade software platforms through multiple product lifecycles.
• Direct experience working on a two-sided platform or marketplace.
• Strong proficiency in English and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to business stakeholders at all levels.
• A strategic mindset with the ability to balance speed of delivery with long-term architectural sustainability.
• Technical fluency across modern tools, including PHP, Laravel, VueJS, AWS infrastructure, and AI-coding assistants.
