Bigblue is empowering the direct-to-consumer rebellion by providing logistics and delivery solutions that help independent brands compete with retail giants. Since our founding in 2018, we have raised $18 million and grown to a team of over 90 people across Europe, all while managing mission-critical systems that handle hundreds of millions of euros in goods. We are looking for an experienced Head of Engineering to join us on-site in Paris to help scale our organization and maintain the high standards that define our product culture.
Responsibilities
- Manage engineers directly and establish a robust team structure to ensure long-term success.
- Foster our Product Engineering culture by contributing as a creative and proficient technical leader.
- Take ownership of day-to-day execution and ensure our engineering standards remain exceptionally high.
- Collaborate with the CTO and Head of Product to implement efficient, collaborative processes that encourage team ownership.
- Work with senior staff to review architecture and engineering plans.
- Improve the developer experience by driving the roadmap, investing in tooling, and eliminating bottlenecks.
- Lead recruitment efforts to source, interview, and hire top-tier engineering talent and managers.
- Support team growth by coaching both high and low performers to help them reach their potential.
Must-haves
- Proven experience leading engineering teams through significant organizational and process growth.
- Strong technical background in full stack development and distributed systems.
- Demonstrated success in people management with the ability to influence and engage peers and direct reports.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present to executive management and stakeholders.
- Professional proficiency in English and conversational French.
Benefits
The base salary for this position is between €90,000 and €130,000.
