We help enterprises migrate their mission-critical applications to modern, cost-effective platforms without the massive expense of rewriting code. Having recently completed a successful pilot with a production application, we have proven that our technology works, and we are ready to scale our impact.

The role

We are looking for an exceptional Head of Engineering to join us as an early-mover in this space. This is a full-time, executive-level position based in the United Kingdom. We operate with a hybrid work model, and we need a leader who can help us move quickly to capture this significant market opportunity.

Core responsibilities

• Build and lead a small, agile team focused on developing one of the most disruptive products in the database industry.
• Collaborate directly with our CEO, CTO, and early customers to ensure our technical strategy aligns with our business objectives.
• Establish operational practices that allow the team to meet ambitious deadlines while maintaining high standards of engineering quality.

Skills and experience

To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in software engineering and team leadership. We are looking for the following qualifications:

• Proven experience leading teams of high-urgency software engineers.
• Deep technical expertise in database systems design, data structures, algorithms, and low-latency programming.
• A track record of solving complex software challenges, such as building compilers or mission-critical distributed systems.
• A keen eye for identifying talented engineers, including those early in their careers.
• The ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and simple manner.

Our current technology stack includes Linux, C++, Postgres SQL, TypeScript, Docker, Azure Cloud, and Azure DevOps.
