The opportunity

We are looking for a Head of Engineering to join our Marketplace team. This is a pivotal leadership role within our product development division where you will guide the future of our core platform. As we evolve into a comprehensive rental platform and integrate new product lines like HousingAnywhere Payments, your work will ensure our services remain scalable and high-quality. You will serve as a mentor and role model, fostering a culture of ownership and autonomy while working closely with product managers to turn our ambitious vision into reality.

A day in the life

• You will spend your time setting the technical direction for the team, ensuring that our architectural decisions support long-term growth and stability.
• You will act as a coach and mentor, focusing on the professional development of your team members through regular feedback, performance reviews, and career growth planning.
• You will balance your day between high-level project management, stakeholder communication, and occasional hands-on technical contributions, such as performing code reviews or pair programming to unblock your team.

Who you are

You are an experienced executive-level leader with approximately 10 years of development experience building complex systems at scale. You possess a deep understanding of the full stack, including React and TypeScript on the frontend, as well as Go and Postgres on the backend. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are fluent in English. Most importantly, you view yourself as a multiplier, finding your greatest success in the growth and effectiveness of the people you lead.
