Since 2018, Numan has been on a mission to help people take control of their health through a platform that integrates diagnostics, medication, and clinical consultations. With a global team of over 300 people, we are looking for a Head of Engineering to lead our obesity product area and help us continue our positive impact on hundreds of thousands of patients.
Responsibilities
- Take accountability for engineering delivery within the obesity product vertical, ensuring our systems remain reliable, scalable, and high-quality.
- Lead, mentor, and grow the engineering team by hiring top talent and fostering a culture of performance and ownership.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Clinical leaders to shape solutions, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with our business goals.
- Maintain strict adherence to regulatory and clinical safety standards, including MHRA, CQC, GDPR, and DCB0129.
- Contribute to our broader engineering standards and architectural direction across the company.
- Integrate AI-enabled tools into our workflows to boost productivity while upholding safety and quality.
- Cultivate a product-focused engineering culture where team members are deeply involved in solving patient problems.
Must-haves
- Proven experience in engineering leadership within a high-growth, product-led environment.
- Strong technical background with the ability to make sound architectural decisions across the stack.
- Experience working within highly regulated industries and a deep understanding of how compliance shapes design.
- A track record of hiring and developing engineers who possess strong commercial and product awareness.
- Exceptional cross-functional communication skills, with the ability to represent engineering at the senior leadership level.
- Commercial acumen, specifically the ability to connect technical decisions to patient outcomes and business performance.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in the digital health sector, particularly with clinical safety frameworks like DCB0129 or MHRA and CQC environments.
- Background in building products for chronic disease management or long-term treatment programs.
- Experience scaling engineering teams during periods of rapid growth in product complexity or patient volume.
