The opportunity

We are looking for an exceptional Head of Engineering to join us at this pivotal moment. As an executive leader, you will be instrumental in building and guiding a small, high-velocity team that is creating a truly disruptive product. You will work directly with our CEO, CTO, and early customers to ensure our technical strategy aligns perfectly with our business goals. Your leadership will define how we build, how we innovate, and how we maintain the high standards necessary to succeed in such a demanding space.

A day in the life

• You will lead and mentor a small, fast-moving team of engineers to develop our core product while ensuring we consistently hit ambitious milestones.
• You will collaborate closely with our leadership team and clients to translate complex business needs into robust technical solutions.
• You will establish and refine our engineering practices to foster a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and high-quality output.

Who you are

You are a seasoned leader who thrives in high-urgency environments. You have a deep technical background, including a strong grasp of database systems design, data structures, algorithms, and low-latency programming. We are looking for someone who has successfully tackled complex software challenges, such as building compilers or mission-critical distributed systems. You possess a keen eye for identifying top-tier engineering talent and have the communication skills to explain intricate technical concepts with clarity. Our current stack relies on Linux, C++, Postgres SQL, TypeScript, Docker, Azure Cloud, and Azure DevOps, so proficiency or experience in these areas is highly valued. You are fluent in English and ready to make a significant impact in the United Kingdom.
