We are looking for a Head of Engineering to join our team in Norway. At STRYDE, we are transforming the seismic industry by developing the world’s smallest and most affordable seismic node system, enabling subsurface imaging for sectors ranging from carbon storage and geothermal energy to terrestrial hydrogen capture.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of eight engineers specializing in electronics, mechanics, computer hardware, IT, and testing.
- Collaborate with your software counterpart to ensure our technology organization delivers the solutions necessary for our continued success.
- Partner with the CTO to manage the Technology group, oversee team competencies, prepare board-level materials, and contribute to our technical strategy.
- Direct our hardware development project portfolio in alignment with our technology roadmap.
- Oversee sustaining and second-line support activities while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage compliance activities during product design phases and refine our technical development processes and best practices.
Must-haves
- Proven experience managing engineering teams, ideally within multi-disciplinary projects.
- Strong background in project and portfolio management.
- An engineering degree with a robust technical acumen and an interest in both product development and equipment maintenance.
- A self-driven, organized approach with a focus on empowering your team to succeed.
- Comfort working in a lab environment and interacting with physical prototypes.
- A strong background in Electronics or Mechanical Engineering, ideally holding an MS or PhD.
- Experience with the development of electronic products and a solid understanding of regulatory compliance.
- Fluency in English, with the ability to produce both technical and accessible documentation.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous experience working within the seismic industry.
- Familiarity with project management processes within an ISO9001 context.
