Are you ready to redefine the future of insurance with a team that is currently transforming how the world thinks about risk? At Flock, we are doing things differently by leveraging real-time data to insure nearly one billion connected miles. We do not just process claims. We actively help our customers, including major fleets like Amazon and JLR, prevent accidents before they happen. Having secured over £50M in funding, we are on a mission to become the premier provider for connected and autonomous vehicle insurance, and we are looking for a visionary leader to help us reach that goal.
What you bring
As our Head of Engineering, you will lead our technical strategy and build the teams that deliver AI-first products with significant business impact. This is a full-time, lead-level position based in the United Kingdom, operating under a hybrid model. Your core responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with senior leadership to translate long-term business goals into actionable engineering strategies.
- Establishing robust frameworks and data-driven metrics that empower our teams to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions with autonomy.
- Fostering a diverse and inclusive culture that prioritizes technical excellence, continuous learning, and cross-functional collaboration.
Requirements
We are looking for a leader who possesses a blend of strategic vision and technical depth. You should have a proven track record of managing high-performing engineering teams in fast-paced, high-growth environments. We value candidates who can use data to navigate ambiguity and who are comfortable communicating complex technical insights to non-technical stakeholders. While not strictly required, deep expertise in cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, and modern AI technologies will be highly beneficial. You must be fluent in English and demonstrate a strong commitment to building an honest, open, and talent-focused engineering culture.
What we offer
We believe in supporting our team members both professionally and personally. Beyond a competitive salary, you will have access to a comprehensive package designed to help you thrive:
- Participation in our company share option scheme.
- 25 days of paid time off plus bank holidays.
- Private medical and vision insurance, along with a dedicated mental wellness budget.
- Flexible working hours and a hybrid work environment.
- A generous learning budget and paid leave for professional development.
- Various salary sacrifice schemes, including options for electric vehicles, gym memberships, and childcare.
How to Apply
If you are passionate about using technology to solve real-world problems and want to shape the future of the insurtech industry, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your application and be your genuine self throughout the process, as we truly value authenticity and the unique perspective you bring to our team.
