We are Kira Learning, and we are on a mission to make world-class education accessible to everyone by harnessing the power of transformative AI. As a rapidly growing startup backed by industry leaders like New Enterprise Associates and Andrew Ng’s AI Fund, we are currently reshaping the 32 billion dollar learning management system market. We are looking for a visionary Head of Design to join our leadership team and define how students and teachers interact with our platform. You will have the unique opportunity to set our creative direction, ensuring that our tools remain simple, powerful, and deeply human-centered as we navigate the evolving landscape of AI in education.
What you'll be doing
- You will lead and evolve our design vision, overseeing everything from our core product UI and UX to our overall visual identity.
- You will build, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of product and visual designers while establishing processes that raise the bar for usability and craft.
- You will collaborate closely with our product, engineering, and content teams to ship exceptional experiences, ensuring that every feature is grounded in user insights and our broader business goals.
What you'll bring
To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and expertise:
- At least 8 years of experience in product or UX design, including a minimum of 2 years in a leadership capacity within high-growth environments.
- A strong portfolio that demonstrates end-to-end product thinking, elegant UI design, and a track record of building and evolving design systems.
- Deep expertise in designing for complex web-based platforms and user journeys.
- Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, allowing you to clearly articulate design decisions and align stakeholders across the organization.
- A passion for education and a firm belief in the potential for AI to improve learning outcomes.
- Fluency in English.
