The role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Data Engineering to join our team in a full-time, executive capacity. This is a hybrid role that serves as a cornerstone of our technical leadership. You will be responsible for our entire end-to-end data infrastructure, overseeing everything from IoT hardware and firmware to data science, business intelligence, and warehousing. Core responsibilities

• Define and execute a comprehensive vision for our data engineering, AI, and IoT strategies to ensure they align with our long-term business growth.
• Architect high-performance, secure, and scalable data infrastructure, including the management of ETL pipelines and our central data warehouse.
• Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse, cross-functional team of engineers, data scientists, and hardware specialists to deliver innovative analytical products.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should bring a blend of technical depth and executive leadership. We are looking for the following qualifications:

• At least 15 years of experience in data engineering or analytics, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership position.
• Deep expertise in modern cloud platforms, data warehousing solutions like Databricks or Redshift, and advanced ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Proven experience managing complex technical functions, specifically including the design and engineering of IoT hardware and firmware.
• A strong background in data science, including machine learning and statistical modeling, paired with a solid understanding of cybersecurity and data privacy standards.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to manage geographically distributed teams in an international setting.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field is required, while an MBA or advanced degree is considered a plus.

Compensation and benefits

We value the expertise you bring to our mission and offer a competitive compensation package to reflect your impact. The expected annual salary for this position is $207,000 to $239,000, plus an annual bonus of 25% based on performance.
