Pantheon has spent over 40 years at the forefront of private markets investing, managing approximately $65bn in discretionary assets for more than 650 clients. We are looking for a Head of Data Engineering to lead the evolution of our data platform and drive our firm-wide analytics strategy from our United Kingdom offices.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with leadership across Technology, Investment, and Investor Relations to execute our data engineering strategy.
- Oversee the enhancement of our data lake, pipelines, and reporting infrastructure to ensure high-quality, accessible data.
- Manage and mentor a high-performing team of data professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Lead the deployment and operationalization of Azure Databricks and lakehouse architecture for scalable processing.
- Partner with the Change Office to deliver data products like our internal analytics platform, Prism.
- Establish data governance, quality standards, and KPIs to measure the impact of our data initiatives.
- Champion a user-centric approach to data platform design to ensure intuitive and effective self-service analytics.
- Stay current on private markets trends and regulatory requirements to maintain our competitive edge.
Must-haves
- Extensive experience managing and optimizing Azure Databricks environments, including metadata management and data governance.
- Proven track record of working with data within financial services, asset management, or private markets.
- Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and PySpark.
- Experience with Azure DevOps and the Scrum framework for managing workflows.
- Expertise in data infrastructure tools such as Terraform and reporting platforms like PowerBI and Tableau.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop globally distributed teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
- Fluency in English.
Nice-to-haves
- An advanced degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with Unity Catalog functionality within Azure Databricks.
- Familiarity with private markets software such as eFront.
- Experience with product management tools like Aha, Miro, and Visio.
