About the Role

We are looking for a Head of Data Engineering to join us in a full-time capacity. In this executive role, you will lead the vision and execution of our data capabilities, serving as the most senior engineering lead in our India office. You will work closely with product managers, data scientists, and ML engineers to build the architecture that powers our customer-facing products. We need a leader who can bridge the gap between complex data infrastructure and tangible business value while fostering a high-performing, diverse team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable data models and production pipelines to support our product vertical.
• Establish operational excellence by defining SLAs for data processes and ensuring high standards for data fidelity, privacy, and system reliability.
• Attract, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of data engineers while driving technical innovation across our infrastructure practices.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Over 12 years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, and data warehousing.
• A degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or a related technical field.
• Proven leadership experience in building and scaling teams, including the ability to manage managers and collaborate across cross-functional departments.
• Strong hands-on expertise in architecting scalable data systems, including ETL processes, distributed systems, and data quality observability.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python, along with deep familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS and the Databricks suite.
• A strategic mindset with the ability to align data initiatives with broader business objectives.

Location

This position is based in Gandhinagar, Vikhroli (W), Mumbai. We operate on a hybrid schedule, requiring three days in the office and allowing two days of remote work.
