Head of Customer Engineering at Sonatus

With solutions already deployed by top global OEMs, we are at the cutting edge of the automotive digital transformation, and we are looking for a Head of Customer Engineering to lead our technical efforts and support our global client base.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a high-performing Customer Engineering team across the US, EMEA, and APAC regions to ensure successful product rollouts.
• Provide technical leadership and foster a culture of engineering excellence within the team.
• Take ownership of issue resolution by directing internal teams and maintaining clear communication with customers.
• Cultivate strong relationships with key accounts, including conducting site visits to ensure our products meet specific requirements.
• Oversee project-based contract and outsourced software development vendors.
• Create product training materials, best practice documentation, and technical collateral to support integration.
• Act as a customer-facing liaison to develop strategic plans that enhance engagement levels.
• Maintain detailed release notes and documentation for new services, configurations, and fixes.

Must-haves

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, with an MS or PhD preferred.
• Over 10 years of experience in customer-facing software integration and support, ideally within the embedded automotive sector.
• At least 5 years of experience managing teams of integration or applications engineers.
• Strong technical proficiency in C++ and Python.
• Hands-on experience with Embedded Linux, RTOS, or Android.
• Deep understanding of networking technologies, including TCP/IP, HTTP, and Ethernet.
• Knowledge of network security and monitoring tools.
• Executive presence with the ability to communicate effectively at the leadership level.
• A self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for hands-on technical development.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with automotive-specific development standards and protocols, such as CAN or AUTOSAR.
