Head of Communications, APAC at Worldcoin

Worldcoin operates as an open-source protocol supported by a diverse global community of economists, developers, and technologists. Our collective mission is to expand access to the global economy by building a public utility that connects every individual while upholding core values of privacy, equality, and open collaboration. The Worldcoin Foundation acts as the steward for this protocol, while Tools for Humanity serves as a global hardware and software development firm that supports the Foundation and operates the World App. We are currently seeking a Head of Communications for the APAC region to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis.

Key outcomes

• Develop and implement localized communication strategies that reflect the unique cultural, social, and political landscapes across the Asia-Pacific region.
• Execute communication initiatives flawlessly, including product launches, market entries, thought leadership campaigns, and brand-building activities.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with government officials, industry influencers, media representatives, and partners to advance our regional objectives.
• Lead high-touch media relations, including proactive outreach, spokesperson training, and managing our reputation across technology, business, and economic media outlets.
• Oversee the creation of compelling content for various channels, ensuring all materials align with regional priorities and cultural sensitivities.
• Act as the primary point of contact for crisis communications, ensuring transparent and timely responses to protect our organizational integrity.
• Collaborate across internal departments, such as marketing, government affairs, product, and engineering, to integrate communication efforts with broader business goals.
• Define and track key performance indicators to measure the success of our regional communication initiatives and identify areas for optimization.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, International Relations, or a related field.
• Extensive professional experience, typically spanning 15 or more years, with a focus on the Asia-Pacific region within global companies, NGOs, or international agencies.
• Deep expertise in regional dynamics, media landscapes, and cultural nuances across APAC.
• A proven track record of managing and hiring a network of external local PR agencies.
• Demonstrated success in navigating innovative spaces that intersect with complex regulatory environments.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to craft messages for diverse audiences.
• Native status or a history of longstanding residency within the APAC region.
• The ability and willingness to travel for market launches, media tours, and speaking engagements.
• Proficiency in digital communication platforms, social media tools, and analytics software.

Preferred qualifications

• A Master's degree in a relevant field.
• Direct experience working within the Web3, cryptocurrency, data privacy, or financial regulation sectors.
• Proficiency in additional languages spoken within the Asia-Pacific region.
