Head of Advanced Threat Defense at Bumbleinc

The role

We are seeking a Head of Advanced Threat Defense to join our team in London on a full-time, hybrid basis. This is a senior-level position where you will report directly to our Chief Information Security and Trust Officer. You will serve as the primary subject matter expert for our organization, working across our Product, Trust and Safety, and Security Operations teams to drive our strategy for detecting and mitigating sophisticated digital threats.

Core responsibilities

• Develop and refine our overarching detection strategies to effectively identify and neutralize bots, scams, and inauthentic accounts.
• Leverage advanced threat detection tools and machine learning models to improve our intelligence gathering, enrichment, and analysis workflows.
• Conduct comprehensive forensic analysis of suspicious activities to uncover the origins and tactics used by malicious actors.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong technical background and a passion for cybersecurity. We are looking for the following qualifications:

• A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional certifications like GIAC.
• Extensive experience in information security with a specific focus on threat detection and mitigation.
• Proven leadership experience managing operational and technical teams.
• Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python, Javascript/Typescript, and Go.
• Deep understanding of network protocols, operating system dynamics, and cybersecurity principles.
• Expertise in static and dynamic analysis, machine learning frameworks, and graph-based analysis.
• The ability to communicate complex security topics clearly and with empathy to diverse teams.
