Grants & Policy Specialist at Lightspeed Systems

We are looking for a Grants & Policy Specialist to join our team and help school districts secure the funding necessary to implement our solutions while keeping our internal teams updated on critical legislative shifts.

Responsibilities

• Identify and track federal, state, and local funding opportunities that align with our technology offerings.
• Collaborate with our sales and account management teams to connect districts with relevant grant programs.
• Assist school districts in drafting persuasive, data-driven grant applications.
• Provide ongoing support to districts regarding grant compliance and reporting requirements.
• Maintain a comprehensive database of funding opportunities and successful case studies.
• Monitor and analyze legislation concerning education technology, student safety, and data privacy.
• Translate complex policy updates into clear, actionable insights for our internal product, sales, and marketing teams.
• Develop educational resources and briefs to help stakeholders understand the impact of new regulations.
• Cultivate relationships with advocacy groups, government agencies, and education associations.

Must-haves

• At least 3 years of professional experience in grant writing, legislative research, or education funding.
• A strong grasp of K-12 funding mechanisms, including federal programs such as Title Funds and IDEA.
• Familiarity with education policy, specifically regarding data privacy, student safety, and edtech.
• Exceptional research, writing, and communication abilities.
• The capacity to synthesize legislative text for non-technical audiences.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Fluency in English.
