As a Global Events Intern based in Amsterdam, you will join our Marketing department to gain hands-on experience in corporate event planning. This 9 to 12 month internship starting in September 2025 offers you the chance to support both internal gatherings and external industry activations while working alongside a collaborative, global team.
Key outcomes
- Manage end-to-end event planning for trade shows, conferences, and internal kickoffs, covering everything from initial concepts to final execution and evaluation.
- Assist our event managers with project coordination, including tracking timelines, updating stakeholders, managing travel logistics, and handling post-event reporting.
- Handle essential administrative and creative tasks such as researching venues, designing slides, managing event swag, and communicating with attendees.
- Collaborate with our broader marketing organization, including PR, brand, creative, and digital teams, to ensure seamless event operations.
- Represent our team to external vendors and partners through professional communication via email, video calls, and various digital platforms.
- Take ownership of at least one specific event or activation project with mentorship from your team, and have the opportunity to organize your own TomTom activity.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the corporate event industry, including budgeting, branding, audience engagement, and sustainability practices.
Requirements
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program focused on business, marketing, communication, or event management.
- Status as an EU citizen or enrollment as a full-time student at a Dutch university for the entire duration of the internship.
- Strong proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, combined with a proactive, detail-oriented mindset.
- Confidence in managing relationships with various stakeholders and external vendors.
- A collaborative spirit that allows you to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining the ability to work independently.
- Digital literacy and comfort with new platforms, with a preference for experience in event or collaboration tools.
- A genuine interest in technology, innovation, branding, and the events industry.
