We are a team driven by the power of location intelligence, helping our retail clients navigate complex landscapes through precise spatial strategy. We believe that data tells a story, and we are looking for a talented individual to help us translate that information into actionable insights. Our culture is built on collaboration and creative problem solving, and we invite you to join us in shaping the future of our mapping initiatives from wherever you feel most inspired to work.
The opportunity
We are looking for a GIS Engineer Analyst to join us on a part-time basis. In this role, you will be the bridge between raw geospatial data and strategic decision-making. You will play a vital role in integrating data into our systems, answering complex spatial questions, and building automated processes that make our operations more efficient. By working closely with our internal teams, you will help design and implement the route plans that keep our retail clients moving forward.
A day in the life
- You will analyze spatial data from both internal and external sources, creating shapefiles that merge topographical details with broader datasets.
- You will take charge of obtaining, cleaning, and processing Census files to ensure they are perfectly integrated into our platform.
- You will develop custom mapping applications and tools, perform data munging, and produce clear visualizations that help stakeholders understand the geographic story behind the numbers.
Who you are
You are a mid-level professional who thrives in an open-source environment and loves solving complex technical puzzles. You communicate clearly in English, ensuring that project goals are understood by everyone involved. Your technical toolkit includes:
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, specifically when writing spatial queries using PostgreSQL and PostGIS.
- Hands-on experience with QGIS or Esri ArcGIS technology, including ArcGIS Pro and the Network Analyst extension.
- A background in GIS analysis, with at least two years of experience in network analysis or an associate degree in a related field.
- A knack for scripting, with a preference for those who have worked with ArcPy.
Why you'll love it here
We value the autonomy of our team members and offer the flexibility of remote work. This is a unique chance to apply your technical expertise to real-world retail challenges while maintaining a schedule that fits your lifestyle. We are excited to see the creative solutions you will bring to our growing digital library of geographic maps.
