Gameplay Engineering Lead at Bungie

We are looking for a passionate Gameplay Engineering Lead to join our team at Bungie. Key outcomes

• Lead and support a team of five engineers focused on the Marathon gameplay sandbox.
• Partner with design leads to create technical solutions that align with their creative vision.
• Provide mentorship, career coaching, and constructive feedback to two to four direct reports.
• Serve as a primary decision-maker and technical guide for gameplay systems and architecture.
• Contribute to the long-term strategy for evolving our sandbox within a live-service framework.

Requirements

• Expertise in developing and maintaining high-quality C++ code.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing player-facing gameplay features.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical partners.
• A solid foundation in mathematics, specifically linear algebra, calculus, and trigonometry.
• Fluency in English.

Preferred qualifications

• Prior experience in a leadership or mentorship role, particularly guiding teams through the full development and shipping lifecycle.
• Experience working with entity-component architectures.
• Background in developing networked gameplay systems.
• Experience contributing to the success of a live-service game.

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is $189,000 to $223,000 USD. Please note that this range may be adjusted based on your specific location and other factors such as experience and business requirements.
