Fullstack Engineer, MLOps at GitLab

We are guided by values that encourage everyone to contribute, and we are currently seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer to join our team in Chile. This is a full-time, remote position where you will help us bridge the gap between data science and engineering by building features that streamline machine learning workflows.

Key outcomes

• Design, build, and integrate product features that enhance our AI-powered DevSecOps platform.
• Solve complex backend machine learning challenges to improve model registry, deployment, and inference capabilities.
• Maintain and improve system standards for style, maintainability, and best practices within a high-scale web environment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams of engineers to develop and scale GenAI solutions.
• Balance immediate feature requirements with long-term architectural goals to reduce the cost and complexity of machine learning for our users.

Requirements

• Significant professional experience working with Golang.
• Strong understanding of how to operationalize the data science lifecycle, including ETL, CI/CD integration, model versioning, and production deployment.
• Deep technical knowledge of ML/AI technologies, such as model inference, training, natural language processing, embeddings, and vector databases.
• Production experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform, preferably within a GCP environment.
• Experience managing inference backends and monitoring large language models.
• Proficiency in English.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience working with Python.
• Familiarity with Vue.js for frontend development.
• A strong interest in defining agent architecture and experimentation for large-scale recommendation engines.
