Full-Stack Software Engineer at Pictor.us

We are Pictorus, an Oakland-based startup dedicated to simplifying the software interfaces that make working with hardware so difficult. With a team that has spent over two decades building robotics and vehicle software for organizations like NASA, the DoD, and various drone innovators, we are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to help us make powerful device technology accessible to everyone.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement technical solutions across our entire software stack.
• Develop user interfaces using VueJS or React.
• Build and maintain production-grade backend services using Python and NodeJS.
• Architect and support AWS environments, including both traditional and serverless implementations.
• Collaborate within a team that values humility and collective success over individual egos.

Must-haves

• Five to ten years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in both TypeScript and Python.
• Proven experience developing production backend services and UI frameworks.
• Ability to work in the United States, as we cannot provide sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves

• Residency in the San Francisco Bay Area for our hybrid office in Oakland.
• Expert-level skills in TypeScript and NodeJS backend development.
• Experience building production applications using Rust.
• Deep expertise in AWS infrastructure.
• A passion for device-level coding, such as working with Arduinos, Jetsons, or Raspberry Pis.
