At TouchBistro, we are a team of restaurant-obsessed, tech-loving people on a mission to support the success of restaurateurs everywhere. We provide an all-in-one point-of-sale and management platform that has powered over 29,000 restaurants globally. We know that in the restaurant industry, time and money are precious, so we build tools that help owners streamline their operations and deliver incredible guest experiences. We are looking for someone who shares our values of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement to join our fast-paced environment.
What is this role?
We are looking for a Full Stack Software Developer to join our product engineering team. This is a full-time, mid-level position based on-site in Canada. You will be part of a group that deploys changes frequently, using world-class dev tooling to ensure our speed remains a competitive advantage for our customers.
What will you do?
- Develop high-quality product features using a TypeScript-first stack, including Next.js for the frontend and Node.js, Express, and Postgres for the backend, all hosted on AWS.
- Maintain the health of our codebase by dedicating time every week to addressing technical debt and participating in longer-term refactoring phases.
- Collaborate across teams to ensure our product integrations and software upgrades provide a seamless experience for our customers.
What makes you a great fit?
You should have 3 to 5 years of experience building and supporting production software. We are looking for someone who is comfortable with English and possesses the following qualifications:
- Proven experience building REST-based web services using Node.js, TypeScript, and OpenAPI.
- Strong background in system design, both for creating new architecture and improving existing systems.
- A solid grasp of relational databases, including data modeling, normalization, and performance optimization through indexing.
- Experience implementing robust test patterns for CI/CD pipelines and post-deployment verification.
What's in it for you?
Joining our team means becoming part of a vibrant, collaborative, and innovative workplace. We offer a variety of benefits to support your well-being and professional growth:
- Unlimited vacation policy.
- Comprehensive dental and vision insurance.
- Access to an employee assistance program.
- Dedicated support for your professional development.
- Flexible work location arrangements.
