Full Stack Senior Software Engineer at Thewanderlustgroup

We are The Wanderlust Group, an outdoor technology company behind Dockwa.com and Marinas.com. Our mission is to help people get outside by building marketplaces that connect boaters with marinas and providing tools that help those marinas thrive. We are currently seeking a Full Stack Senior Software Engineer for a full-time, remote position. You will join a team of about 60 employees, including 14 in engineering, where you will have the chance to make an immediate impact while working alongside a highly collaborative and supportive group.

Responsibilities

• Lead project threads within your pod and across the broader engineering organization to drive technical initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with designers and product managers to build high-quality software that serves both marina operators and boaters.
• Take collective ownership of our technology stack, ensuring the maintenance and scalability of our platforms as we grow.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates with at least 4 years of professional experience who possess a strong track record of shipping software. You should be comfortable with the following:

• Object-oriented web programming, with specific experience in Ruby on Rails being a significant advantage.
• Managing relational databases, particularly Postgres.
• Working with frontend technologies, especially React, along with a solid understanding of UX principles.
• Utilizing caching and queueing systems like Sidekiq and Redis.
• Implementing observability tools such as Datadog and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Applying critical thinking and systems design to solve complex business challenges while fostering a culture of continuous learning.
