At The Wanderlust Group, we are dedicated to helping people get outside and explore the world. We operate Dockwa.com and Marinas.com, two platforms that serve as vital marketplaces connecting boaters with marinas while providing the technology necessary for those marinas to thrive. With a team of approximately 60 people, including an engineering group of about 14, we foster a culture rooted in high trust, collaboration, and a shared commitment to our users. We are currently seeking a Full Stack Senior Software Engineer to join our fully remote team and help us build impactful solutions for the boating industry.

Key outcomes

• Collaborate within a pod consisting of engineers, a designer, and a product manager to develop high-quality software for our marina operators and boaters.
• Lead project initiatives both within your specific pod and across the broader engineering organization.
• Take collective ownership of our technology platforms and ensure their ongoing maintenance and health.
• Apply critical thinking and systems design to solve complex business challenges.
• Participate in on-call support rotations to ensure system reliability.
• Proactively contribute to a team culture centered on continuous learning and mutual support.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates with at least 4 years of professional experience and a strong background in the following areas:

• Proficiency in object-oriented web programming, with a preference for Ruby on Rails experience.
• Experience working with relational databases, specifically Postgres.
• Knowledge of caching and queueing systems, particularly Sidekiq and Redis.
• Frontend and UX development skills, with familiarity in React.
• Experience with observability tools, ideally Datadog.
• Strong grasp of testing, profiling, and debugging practices.
• Ability to manage and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Fluency in English.
