AQEMIA is a next-generation pharmatech company that utilizes quantum-inspired physics and generative AI to accelerate drug discovery for critical diseases like immuno-oncology. We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Python Engineer to join our team in France, where you will be the first person in this role and have a direct impact on our platform, engineering culture, and technical strategy.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve scalable services that support our biochemical algorithms.
• Lead full-stack development efforts, working across both backend systems using Python, FastAPI, and SQL, as well as frontend components.
• Establish engineering best practices and define high-quality coding standards.
• Serve as a technical leader by making critical architectural decisions and guiding the direction of our tech stack.
• Manage cloud infrastructure on AWS and ensure seamless integration across the entire application.
• Mentor and support fellow engineers to foster a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
• Participate in an Agile environment, contributing to daily sprints and iterative development.

Must-haves

• At least 5 years of software engineering experience within a team of 20 or more engineers.
• Strong full-stack expertise, specifically with Python, FastAPI, SQL, and modern frontend frameworks like Vue.js or React.
• Proficiency in managing cloud infrastructure, with a preference for AWS.
• A proven track record of leading technical projects from initial design to final delivery.
• Experience architecting complex software systems.
• Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse technical stakeholders.
• Fluency in English.

Nice-to-haves

• Working knowledge of Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with DevOps principles, including CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
