We are Agot, a Pittsburgh-based AI startup focused on revolutionizing the future of work through advanced camera technology. Our platform, Agot Retina, provides real-time labor support, reduces operational waste, and acts as a digital spellchecker for errors, helping large restaurant chains optimize their daily performance.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain robust server-side logic while managing central databases to ensure high performance for our edge devices and user interfaces.
Improve and extend our internal video labeling tool, which is built using JavaScript.
Write clean, efficient, and highly testable code that can be reused across our systems.
Connect front-end components and data streams from our computer vision team into a unified, functional system.
Design database schemas that accurately reflect and support our core business processes.
Develop and implement automated testing suites and unit tests to maintain high code quality.

Must-haves

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
At least 3 years of professional experience working as a Backend Engineer.
Deep technical proficiency in Python, SQL, and JavaScript.
Experience managing user authentication and authorization across complex, multi-system environments.
A solid grasp of design principles for building scalable applications.
Strong debugging capabilities and a commitment to rigorous unit testing.
Professional experience with Git and Linux CLI utilities.

Nice-to-haves

Practical experience working with cloud computing platforms, specifically AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
