At Nautical, we are building the multi-vendor ecommerce technology that will power the future economy. We are a funded startup on a mission to democratize access to marketplace infrastructure, and we are looking for ambitious individuals who want to make a lasting impact. As a core member of our engineering team based in our Toronto office, you will help us design and ship the marketplace platform of the future. You will have a direct voice in our product direction and technical strategy while working alongside our founding team to bring our vision to life.
What you'll be doing
- Develop and maintain the backend APIs and frontend applications that serve as the foundation of our marketplace platform.
- Take ownership of the full product lifecycle, including planning, building, testing, and deploying code across our various projects.
- Collaborate closely with your teammates to execute our product roadmap and refine our features based on direct customer feedback.
What you'll bring
To be successful in this role, you should be comfortable working across the entire stack and eager to solve complex problems. We value candidates who possess the following skills and experience:
- Proven experience in building and scaling web applications.
- Proficiency with both server-side and browser-side web frameworks.
- Strong understanding of REST and GraphQL API design.
- Ability to create consistent, high-quality user interfaces using reusable components and UX best practices.
- Technical familiarity with our stack, including Django, Postgres, TypeScript, Remix, Next.js, GCP, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
- A passion for delivering value to customers and a growth mindset that embraces challenges.
