Full Stack Engineer at CreditBook

We are CreditBook, building technology that improves financial outcomes for entrepreneurs in emerging markets. In our first 12-18 months we raised over $11 million in venture funding from investors including Tiger Global, Firstminute Capital, Quiet Capital, and Better Tomorrow Ventures, and we have scaled our platform to tens of thousands of micro-businesses across Pakistan. Since mid-2023 our revenue has grown fourfold to $650,000, and we now provide fast, accessible lending services throughout the MENAP region through APIs and SDKs that simplify compliance, risk management, and capital supply.

The role

We are hiring a Junior Full Stack Engineer to join us full-time in a fully remote capacity. You will work alongside product managers, data scientists, and fellow engineers to design, build, and maintain the systems that power our lending platform.

Core responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend systems and responsive frontend experiences that serve thousands of small businesses.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into clean, well-documented technical solutions and maintain clear API specifications.
• Troubleshoot performance issues, conduct code reviews, and optimize applications so they remain reliable as user demand grows.

Skills and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Proficiency with the Node.js ecosystem for building backend services.
• Hands-on experience developing frontend applications with React or Next.js.
• Comfort using Git for source control and working with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and Redis.
• Proven ability to ship production software in a professional setting.
• Fluency in English.
