At Nominal, we are building the future of hardware validation. We are a venture-backed company supported by industry leaders like Founders Fund and Lux Capital, creating a powerful data visualization and computation platform for organizations testing everything from satellites and rockets to nuclear reactors. Our team is composed of veterans from NASA, SpaceX, and Palantir, all working toward a common goal: helping engineering teams accelerate their testing cycles and reduce costs. We are currently looking for a talented engineer to join our mission and help us deliver critical software to partners like the Department of Defense.
Role at a glance
We are seeking a Senior Frontend Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis. You will be based in one of our offices in Los Angeles, Austin, or New York City, where you will play a foundational role in shaping the tools that empower the world's most innovative hardware engineers.
Your impact
- Architect and build end-to-end features and tooling, ensuring every interaction is performant, intuitive, and delightful for our users.
- Design and implement scalable APIs using tRPC to manage and transform massive datasets into meaningful insights.
- Actively contribute to the growth of our engineering department by participating in the sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding of new team members.
What you'll need
We are looking for someone who is passionate about building complex, high-performance interfaces. You should be comfortable working in an English-speaking environment and possess the following qualities:
- Proven experience developing complex products, particularly those involving time-series data visualization.
- A deep appreciation for pixel-perfect design and the ability to create beautiful, powerful user interactions.
- A proactive mindset with the desire to influence our product roadmap and contribute to high-level strategy.
- Technical proficiency with TypeScript, Next.js, React, Tailwind, and WebGL.
- A willingness to occasionally travel to customer sites, such as rocket test stands or spacecraft clean rooms, to see our software in action.
Perks and compensation
We take care of our team so you can focus on building great things. Our benefits package includes:
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance with 100% of premiums covered.
- Unlimited vacation and sick leave.
- A dedicated learning budget to support your professional growth.
- Free daily lunches, snacks, and coffee at our offices.
