At RenoFi, our mission is to make renovation financing simple, fast, and accessible for everyone. We are reshaping how an 800 billion dollar market functions by allowing homeowners to borrow against their home's future value, rather than just their current equity. By building a platform that connects homeowners, contractors, and lenders, we are helping families renovate their homes years sooner than they otherwise could. We are a globally distributed, venture-backed team dedicated to building a product that creates a win-win-win for all our users.
The role
We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. This is a pivotal role for someone who enjoys owning the full product lifecycle, from initial discovery and prototyping to final shipping. You will work closely with our product and design teams to build the core user-facing systems that power our renovation underwriting platform. We are seeking candidates who are comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment and who can maintain momentum while navigating changing priorities. Please note that for this specific position, we are prioritizing applicants located within the GMT-3 to GMT+2 time zones.
Core responsibilities
- Build and expand our core renovation underwriting platform, including the systems that automate workflows and integrate data regarding property, appraisals, and renovation structures.
- Take end-to-end ownership of major features, ensuring high standards for code quality, reliability, and maintainability from design through to production.
- Collaborate with our product, design, and data teams to identify technical debt, optimize performance, and leverage modern AI tools to accelerate our development processes.
Skills and experience
- At least 4 years of professional front-end engineering experience, with a minimum of 2 years specifically focused on React.
- Strong foundational knowledge of modern CSS and responsive web development.
- Proven experience with Git and CI/CD workflows, such as Netlify.
- Proficiency in writing unit and end-to-end tests using React testing libraries.
- A proactive mindset, with the ability to work autonomously, ask clarifying questions, and suggest improvements to our existing tech stack.
- Experience with GraphQL, Apollo, and monitoring tools like DataDog or Sentry is considered a significant plus.
Compensation and benefits
We believe in rewarding our team members for their impact and dedication. Our benefits package includes:
- Equity compensation to ensure you share in the success of what we build together.
- Remote work flexibility with the autonomy to manage your own schedule and hours.
- Paid time off through an untracked vacation policy to help you recharge.
- Paid parental leave to support you during important life milestones.
How to apply
If you are passionate about using technology to solve real-world financial problems and want to join a collaborative, innovative team, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your application, and be sure to highlight any prior experience you have working within distributed or remote teams. We are committed to fostering a diverse workplace, so even if you are not certain that you meet every single requirement, we encourage you to apply anyway.
