Front End Software Engineer at Axual

We are Axual, a rapidly expanding scale-up dedicated to transforming how enterprises manage real-time event stream processing. Our platform provides the infrastructure and tools necessary to make data actionable and reliable for major organizations, including the Norwegian Government, Rabobank, Stedin, PostNL, and Eneco. By leveraging the power of Apache Kafka, we enable our clients to make faster, data-driven decisions. We are looking for a skilled Senior Front End Software Engineer to join our team in the Netherlands and help us build the next generation of our real-time data platform.

Key outcomes

• Design and develop elegant, responsive, and user-friendly interfaces for our data platform.
• Create robust features using React and its ecosystem to ensure high performance and scalability.
• Work closely with product managers and backend engineers to turn complex data requirements into intuitive workflows.
• Apply UX design principles to deliver seamless and engaging user experiences.
• Produce clean, maintainable, and testable code for all critical user interactions.
• Contribute to a cross-functional, agile environment where team ownership and creative input are highly valued.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience in front-end development, with a deep focus on React.
• Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript and TypeScript, as well as HTML5 and CSS3.
• Experience using pre-processors like SASS.
• A solid grasp of UX design best practices and an eye for detail.
• Practical experience consuming RESTful APIs using tools such as Axios.
• Familiarity with front-end tooling like Vite and testing frameworks.
• Experience managing application state and handling complex forms with libraries like Formik.
• A strong product-focused mindset and a desire to understand the purpose behind the features you build.
• Fluency in English.

Preferred qualifications

• Previous experience in a senior or lead role, including mentoring peers and guiding technical strategy.
• Familiarity with design tools and methodologies to enhance user experience.
• Experience working with authentication flows.
• Knowledge of real-time data concepts or experience working with WebSockets.
• Experience integrating AI tools into your daily development workflow.
