At Tamr, we build data products that leverage proven AI to help businesses discover, enrich, and maintain the golden records they need to grow faster. Our approach combines powerful AI with human refinement to deliver results in days rather than months, helping our clients lower operational costs compared to traditional master data management solutions. You will be working alongside a close-knit group of about 40 professionals in a culture that values collaboration, support, and fun while tackling serious technical challenges.
About the Role
We are seeking a Front End Software Engineer Intern to join us for an internship. As a member of our team, you will be treated like a full-time employee, working within a small group of 4 to 5 people. We will work with you to identify a project that aligns with your interests and our business needs. You will have a dedicated manager for professional development and a tech lead to guide you through architecture, scheduling, and coding. You will be responsible for designing and owning stories for every sprint, and your code will be held to the same high standards as the rest of our engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, break down, and take ownership of development stories throughout each sprint.
- Collaborate with a tech lead and mentor to refine your coding skills and architectural understanding.
- Contribute meaningfully to our core engineering projects while maintaining the high quality standards expected of our team.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- You must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- You must be available for the internship from July 2025 to December 2025.
- You must be local to the Boston or Cambridge area, as we are unable to provide relocation assistance.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including ES6+ and functional programming.
- Experience with React, including hooks, state management, and the virtual DOM.
- Solid understanding of HTML and CSS for web structure and styling.
- Familiarity with testing frameworks such as Jest and React Testing Library.
- Proficiency in Git and version control workflows.
- Experience with high-level programming languages, specifically Java.
Location
This position is based on-site at our office in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
