TextNow is looking for a Fraud Analyst
We are TextNow, a company dedicated to providing accessible communication services to our community. We are looking for a Senior Fraud Analyst to join our Trust and Safety team and help us protect our platform from spam and fraudulent activity.
Responsibilities
- Monitor our platform for potential fraud by utilizing our internal tools and technologies.
- Analyze large datasets to spot anomalies and identify emerging risk patterns.
- Perform detailed investigations to detect bad actors and mitigate service abuse.
- Create comprehensive reports on fraud incidents and suggest solutions to prevent future occurrences.
- Keep management informed with regular updates on current fraud trends and our mitigation progress.
- Work alongside our customer care, product, engineering, and data science teams to improve our systems.
- Automate the discovery and monitoring of threats by using both internal and external data sources.
- Collaborate on machine learning development and evaluate third party technologies to improve our detection methods.
Must-haves
- Strong background in data analysis, including a solid foundation in probability and statistics.
- Proficiency in SQL, Elastic Search, and Excel.
- Experience working with relational and non-relational databases, as well as data lakes like Snowflake, Redshift, or Splunk.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- A customer-first mindset and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A self-starting attitude with meticulous attention to detail.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python.
- Previous experience working within the telecom industry, specifically with calling and messaging services.
- Background in mitigating common fraud and abuse attack vectors.
