Founding Software Engineer at Syrup

At Syrup, we are developing the first product-led email platform designed specifically for SaaS companies. By utilizing product usage data and artificial intelligence, our platform enables businesses to communicate with their users on an individual level, which drives customer loyalty, retention, and revenue growth. Our team of eight is backed by High Alpha, a venture firm established by the founders of ExactTarget. We are currently looking for a Founding Software Engineer to join us at the ground floor. This is a unique opportunity to help shape our product and the future of intelligent marketing automation while working alongside our co-founders, who bring a wealth of experience from successful ventures like NeverBounce and Greenspring Associates.

Key outcomes

• Work closely with our product team to translate user needs into effective technical solutions.
• Build and maintain scalable, cloud-native applications using AWS.
• Execute full-stack development tasks to ensure we deliver high-quality, production-ready features.
• Solve complex technical challenges and maintain a consistent delivery schedule.
• Engage in collaborative brainstorming to refine our algorithms, product features, and overall technology stack.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience working as a full-stack engineer.
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment where you can manage multiple projects independently.
• Previous experience working as an engineer within an early-stage startup.
• Strong technical proficiency in TypeScript, NextJS, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, and AWS.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
• A solid understanding of the full software development life cycle and Agile methodologies.
• Fluency in English and residency within the United States.

Preferred qualifications

• Practical experience working with OpenAI technologies and APIs.
