The opportunity

We are looking for a Founding Engineer to join us in our Toronto office four days a week. In this role, you will be a key player in shaping our technical direction. You will work closely with our core team to build out our data platform, ensuring that we continue to provide immense value to our global customer base. This is a chance to have a significant impact on our architecture and culture as we continue to expand.

A day in the life

• You will focus on enhancing our core integration framework to ensure our systems remain robust and scalable.
• You will design and deliver new features for our data platform, directly contributing to the tools our customers rely on every day.
• You will participate in code reviews and help establish best practices, ensuring that our high standards for quality and reliability are maintained across the entire organization.

Who you are

You are a senior-level developer with a passion for building high-quality software. You communicate effectively in English and have a deep understanding of the following areas:

• At least four years of back-end development experience, including three years specifically focused on Node.js and TypeScript.
• Advanced knowledge of Node.js internals and comfort working with complex TypeScript features like generics.
• At least two years of experience designing and building solutions on AWS.
• Practical experience with serverless and event-driven architectures, such as Lambda and SQS.
• Bonus points if you have experience building batch or streaming data pipelines at a massive scale.
