Founding Engineer – Smart Contract Data at Shadow

What you bring

We are seeking a Senior Founding Engineer to specialize in smart contract data for this full-time, remote position. You will work directly with our leadership and enterprise customers to conduct protocol research and design the systems that set new industry standards. Your core responsibilities include the following:

• Designing and implementing shadow events to extract high-value data from smart contracts.
• Collaborating with top-tier crypto protocol and research teams to identify critical data needs.
• Defining the technical roadmap for how onchain data is captured and utilized across the ecosystem.

Requirements

The ideal candidate is an ambitious engineer with a deep fascination for protocol mechanism design and onchain data. You should have extensive experience writing smart contracts or building subgraphs, along with a strong grasp of how different protocols function. We value candidates who possess a pragmatic attention to detail, excellent data hygiene, and the ability to learn new technologies rapidly. While you do not need mastery of every tool in our stack, you should be comfortable working with Rust, TypeScript, Solidity, Vyper, Kubernetes, and Kafka. Proficiency in English is required, and we prioritize individuals who are solution-oriented, low-ego, and kind.
